The Mars One scheme to take passengers to Mars and leave them there is bankrupt:

https://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/mars-one-bankrupt-1.5014522

Mars One, a Dutch company that planned to send humans on a one-way trip to Mars and start the first human colony on the Red Planet, has been declared bankrupt.

The declaration was made in a Swiss court on Jan. 15 — and posted on Reddit this past weekend — officially dissolving Mars One Ventures AG.

There’ve always been schemes:

Temptation

This song has been part of me for a very, very long time.

Many do not like this 12″ version, they prefer the 7″ and that’s one reason I prefer this version, though both are good.

The 7″ version is a more structured version with a commercial synthpop feel; the 12″ is more chaotic with the emphasis on electronic rhythms rather than melody. The 7″ version plays at 33? rpm to accommodate its length of around five and a half minutes. Both versions bear the same catalogue number “FAC 63” despite these differences.

This post is dedicated to a friend.

Please, I beg of you – use good headphones because it’s all in Peter Hook’s bass, there’s no point unless that fills your head:

Hoaxed

This youube was run at SDA?, via Chuckles, and it is long. it is the last post today. Tomorrow’s posts are uncertain here, let’s see what happens.

This was made by the usual crew and you can take it or leave it, it deals with the way we are living in a contrived reality and there are all sorts of implications, some of which I touch on below the clip.? It rambles a lot but does state the case:

South Africa

I’d advise all whites to get out now. Meanwhile:

https://www.thesouthafrican.com/what-is-stage-4-load-shedding-latest-news-eskom/

Eskom has plunged South Africa into darkness, in a more dramatic fashion than usual on Monday. The energy firm “lost functionality” in six of their generating units, escalating the load shedding schedule from Stage 2 up to Stage 4. Stage 3 didn’t even get a look-in, such is the severity of the situation.

What fun.

There is always a reason

There’s an aspect of these El Paso rallies for Trump and Beto which was beautiful to watch, quite entertaining:

The Donald or his staff knew they needed to have quality vision and sound for his supporters and quite right too – you look after your people, nothing is too good for them – but he and the staff also knew that if they could blast that sound across a quarter of a mile to a rally with far smaller numbers, if it was your music, not his which filled the air, w-e-e-l-l-l, you understand.

Now, a critical question – why would you do such a thing? It seems vindictive, no?? Yes, it’s a strategic coup but the main thing is that li’l bit of an ‘edge’ to it, quite nice.
